DTF Call September 17, 2008

INTRODUCTIONS/CHECK-INs:
Diane: Cedar Rapids info meeting at mosque Sun eve 9/21, then doing outreach in synogogue during Rosh Hashanah after rabbi preaching on social justice. Diane's vision is to have the two groups train together. She will also create a Diversity Task Force blog.
Betsy: doing ongoing outreach to African-American churches in Miami with Global AIDS Alliance. Will also table at big global event in Maimi with Diversity Task Force brochure. Would like copy of Diane's agendas for outreach with rabbi locally, also will check out Faith in Action Jewish curriculum. Thinks we should collaborate more with the Faith in Action group.
Meredith: will ask Alan to create webpage(s) for diversity using brochure language, link to conference materials and blog Diane is creating.

UPDATE ON PILOT CITIES PROJECT
Monica, Diane and Meredith meeting every 2 weeks or so to dig into more details on the diversity outreach they are doing. Updating plans (Diane created Cedar Rapids plan in June, Monica's group in last few weeks)- to capture lessons learned and track progress ongoingly. See above for latest from Cedar Rapids

SURVEY OF RESULTS NETWORK
Will roll out as soon as soon as early next week (combined with marketing committee questions)

TRANSLATION
Quick suggestion from RESULTS' Grassroots Staff: focus on Activist Milestones/Toolkit (http://www.results.org/website/article.asp?id=1355) — once new version launched in next couple of weeks, Faith in Action curriculum. Eventually do Basics. Betsy will contact RESULTADOS Mexico re: collaborate on content.

FUNDRAISING
Betsy willing to do research, needs help on succinct wording.

NEXT STEPS/CALL (and KEY OPPORTUNITIES)=
Does Wed 10/15 at either 7 ET or 8 ET work for people?
Use opportunity of new board members to invite them to join future Diversity Task Force call. Betsy and Diane will contact board and also Joanne to urge them. (Meredith: strength of volunteer leadership within Diversity Task Force stands out vs. staff-led efforts on Youth in Action and Faith in Action)
Get longer share about Diane's diversity outreach on Oct natl conf call-- will send email offering to share next week.
